SAFETY

Meet thoughtfully.

Verification helps, but your judgement and boundaries still matter.

Private video-call safety

A video invitation can be sent only from a mutual connection and never opens a camera automatically. Accept only when you are comfortable, check what is visible behind you, and do not show identity papers, bank details, an exact address or a workplace access card. Turn the camera off or end the call whenever you feel pressured.

Sarkari Matrimony does not record the call. No website can reliably prevent the other device from taking a screenshot or using another camera, so do not display anything you would not want copied. Decline, Block and Report remain available; repeated invitations are limited and grouped rather than producing unlimited alerts.

Adults only

Sarkari Matrimony does not permit profiles for children. The signed-in account holder separately confirms that they are at least 18. A new profile may represent a woman aged 18 or older or a man aged 21 or older. Parents and relatives may help only with a profile for an adult who knows about it and has clearly given permission; the manager's confirmation never substitutes for the represented adult's age and permission.

A signed-in adult member can choose Underage concern from the profile or message safety menu. The system immediately hides the reported profile and revokes its contact paths as a temporary precaution, then puts the retained context first in the human-review queue. This is reversible, does not lower Behaviour Trust by itself, and is not a finding, automatic ban or statement of guilt. A no-action or overturned human decision restores an otherwise eligible profile when no other adult-safety hold remains.

This age gate is a platform eligibility rule, not a certificate that a marriage is lawful. The people and families involved remain responsible for checking every condition that applies to them before any marriage. India Code publishes the current Prohibition of Child Marriage Act definition.

What verification means

A verification badge reflects evidence reviewed by a human at a particular time. Identity-only profiles use a private live selfie and identity document; no employment evidence is requested. Government-service profiles also photograph one current work record inside the private flow and may add an optional official public link or DigiLocker issued-document URI. These extra references may help establish the claim but never guarantee faster review or approval.

Verification Strength starts with a baseline derived from five recorded human evidence findings and shows evidence confidence only. A reviewer cannot raise it, but may apply a documented lower cap when the evidence warrants greater caution. Reaching the numeric threshold is not enough: an issuer/source or issuer security feature must also be checked before approval. It is separate from Behaviour Trust, compatibility and character. Identity-only profiles can reach the same maximum score without employment evidence.

A badge does not certify character, relationship intentions, financial claims or future conduct. In-app capture is not cryptographic proof of where an image came from. Confirm important facts independently and never rely on a compatibility or verification score as proof.

How Trust Score works

The profile-visible Trust Score combines 45% validated current Verification Strength with 55% account-level Behaviour Trust. Missing, pending, rejected or no-longer-current verification has no evidence contribution and appears as a status rather than a misleading 0/100.

Verification reviews identity evidence for every eligible profile. Government-work evidence is reviewed only when the profile claims government service; an identity-only profile is not disadvantaged and can reach the same verification maximum. Approved evidence can raise the overall Trust Score, but never raises Behaviour Trust. Behaviour Trust starts at a neutral 70 and changes only through limited account history and observed in-app conduct.

Maintain the score with current genuine evidence, respectful two-way conversations and normal safety boundaries. Payment, profile completion, partner preferences and protected personal traits never buy trust points. Trust Score is not a government certificate or a guarantee of continuing employment, character, compatibility or safety.

Real photographs only

AI-generated faces, stolen photographs, impersonation and deceptive edits are prohibited. Use a clear, current photograph of the person represented by the profile. A human reviewer may compare profile images with verification evidence. Confirmed deliberate synthetic identity use may lead to permanent removal, with an opportunity for human reconsideration where appropriate.

Keep documents out of chat

Never send Aadhaar, PAN, service ID, salary slips, appointment letters, bank statements or other identity documents to another member. Verification evidence belongs only in the designated private review channel. If you use Aadhaar, mask the first eight digits; a full Aadhaar number is not required. Sarkari Matrimony will never ask for an OTP, card PIN or UPI PIN in chat.

After the human decision, the platform attempts permanent deletion of raw evidence. If a reviewed file remains, delete it immediately from the dashboard; the recorded verification badge remains after reviewed files are deleted.

Recognise the matrimony-scam pattern

Be cautious when a new match quickly moves the conversation away from the platform, builds emotional trust unusually fast, avoids a live identity check, pressures you to meet privately, asks for a phone number or exact home or work location too soon, or introduces an investment, crypto, customs, gift, travel or emergency-money story. The Indian Cybercrime Coordination Centre's current matrimonial-platform fraud advisory specifically warns about false identities, stolen or morphed photographs and later financial exploitation.

Do not transfer money, scan a payment QR code, buy gift cards, share banking credentials or invest on another member's request. Stop contact when money is requested, preserve the conversation and use both Report and Block.

Talk before you reveal

Sarkari Matrimony does not ask for or store your phone number or WhatsApp. Chat on the platform and use private in-app audio or video calling where it is available. Do not share private contact details, bank details, identity documents or an exact home or work location, and do not agree to a private meeting until you have independently satisfied yourself about the person. A call can help you ask direct questions, but it is not identity verification and does not make a person safe.

Each in-app call requires mutual consent and current service availability. Do not record or publish a private conversation without lawful permission.

How activity safety prompts and Behaviour Trust work

Sarkari Matrimony may check chat activity for narrow patterns such as a request for money or secret credentials, pressure to share private contact or an exact location, many newly contacted profiles, or the same long opening sent repeatedly. A request for an OTP, UPI PIN, CVV, password or bank login may be stopped before it is sent. Unusually high new-contact or repeated-message activity may temporarily pause new conversations while existing conversations remain available where safe.

A contact may see a prompt such as Recently messaged 20+ profiles. The profile's Behaviour Trust separately summarises limited in-app history, repeated objective safety patterns, a threshold of independent blocks after mutual matches, human-confirmed conduct findings and audited restrictions. Blocks from people who never mutually matched are excluded. It never uses religion, caste/community, disability, health or partner preference. A report affects the number only if human review confirms a conduct violation. One block and pending or escalated reports are not counted as confirmed findings.

These are reasons to slow down, not proof of fraud or a guarantee about a person. An owner can see why the account-level number changed and ask for human reconsideration through the Contact page. A human-confirmed conduct finding can affect the score without automatically suspending the account; restriction is a separate deliberate action. If a second human review overturns that finding or an earlier suspension, its linked score effect is removed immediately.

These narrow pattern checks run within the Sarkari Matrimony application. Private member-to-member chats are not sent to an external generative-AI provider to decide whether someone is fraudulent. Sent chat messages remain stored for conversation delivery and authorised reporting. The safety layer may retain a limited signal code and a one-way fingerprint for a longer message so repeated outreach can be recognised without creating another readable copy. If a secret-request message is stopped before sending, it is not stored as a chat message; a minimal safety event records the reason code and, where available, its fingerprint—not the blocked wording.

Meeting safely
  1. Video or voice check first and tell a trusted person about the meeting.
  2. Meet in a busy public place using your own transport.
  3. Do not share a home address or workplace access details early.
  4. Keep your phone charged and leave immediately if pressured.
  5. Families may participate, but the person represented by the profile must remain informed and free to decide.
Report, then block if needed

On a recommendation or private conversation, open the three-dot safety menu and choose Report to human review. For an obscene, threatening or inappropriate incoming chat, use Report message directly below it so the exact selected message—not unrelated chat—is preserved for the private safety queue. Choose Underage concern whenever the person may be below the platform age gate. A report does not automatically ban someone and it is not a police complaint. You can also block the member immediately to stop contact both ways.

If you cannot reach the in-product control, use the current route on the Contact page. Do not send identity documents, passwords or OTPs with a report.
